Michael López-Alegría is a space (company) executive, public speaker, former U.S. Navy Test Pilot, and NASA Astronaut. He has spent more time spacewalking than any American and was recently inducted into the Astronaut Hall of Fame. Michael has over four decades of aviation and space experience with the US Navy and NASA.
Michael was born in Spain and grew up in California where he joined the US Navy through which he earned a bachelor of science degree in systems engineering and then a master of science degree in aeronautical engineering. He has accumulated more than 5,700 pilot hours in over 30 different aircraft types.
López-Alegría will command history’s first private mission to the International Space Station in 2022.
